The advantages and disadvantages of slag blocks

Slag blocks have their disadvantages and advantages. The advantage of slag blocks is that the block has a size that exceeds the size of the usual brick. Thus, laying such material will be carried out faster, and this is quite important during the construction of the walls. Block size is 6-8 times larger than the size of the brick. For the same reason, laying blocks is easier to control for evenness. If when laying blocks on the street there is dry weather, you must additionally moisturize the wall and close it from the sun for about a week.

If the construction area is a cold climate, then the wall of blocks must be made thicker. In general, the thicker the wall, the colder the climate can be. This does not allow the use of such blocks in cold areas, because the wall thickness in such cases will be very large. The obvious disadvantages include low sound insulation. Also, when using blocks, it is quite difficult to conduct communications. In addition, when using such blocks, it is necessary to carry out finishing work. Moreover, they need to be carried out both from the inner and outside of the walls. Slag block should not be exposed to water.
