Carpet coatings made of synthetic and artificial materials

Recently, synthetic and artificial carpet coatings occupy a large share of sales in the market. This is explained by such high -quality indicators as: durability, acceptable cost, as well as special technical properties. For the production of these coatings, polyamide, polypropylene, polyester, acrylic are most often used.

Polyester. This material is resistant to washing, but unstable to crumpling. Polyester is inclined to slide and fluff. Coatings from it quickly lose their appearance. Polypropylene (Olefin). Has a weak structure of fibers, and as a result, instability to crumpet. In connection with the stupid of the surface, carpet coatings from such material are not recommended to be used in intensive places. Acrylic. Stability to abrasion — Average. Fibers, reminiscent of wool, are colorful. Typically, this material in the production of coatings is used in combination with other materials, for example, such as polyamide. Thus, resistance to abrasion increases.

Carpet manufacturers of Europe most often use polyamide, in the United States – Preference is given to polypropylene.
