Foam glass in construction

The foam glass is made from waste production or mountain glass. Glasses are heated to the molten mass and foamed with gas formers until a foamy glass mass, which is poured into forms. Foam glass can be compared with materials such as volcanic pumice or natural shells, which have a porous structure.

The construction of foam glass is used mainly as heat and sound insulation. Unlike other solid glass materials, foam glass is easily processed. It is well drilled, processed with a cutting tool and has other building qualities. Foam glass is made in different types. From foam glass to foaming blocks, which are used to warm the production facilities of the nuclear power plant.

In the usual construction, foam glass is used as heat -insulating materials for insulation of baths, saunas, chimneys, houses, garage premises. Laying foaming blocks does not need any special technologies. For laying the heat -insulating layer, a conventional adhesive solution is used, prepared from dry mixtures. Depending on intendedness, polystecular tiles can be pasted over the floor or internal walls of the house.
