How to fix plaster defects

Small cracks, scratches and damage due to moisture – All this spoils the appearance of the plaster, but by spending a little time it can be easily fixed. If the defect arises due to contact with moisture, then you need to remove all the spoiled and crumbling parts and a little coating around. If the whole thing is in the crack, then not only a spoiled place is overwhelmed, but also about five centimeters around.

Next, go through a wet sponge in this place and apply a new ready -made solution, it must harden in no more than 20 minutes, otherwise, it is better to sprinkle the surface with water. Also, the solution should not be very dry, otherwise new cracks cannot be avoided in the near future. The plaster must be applied with a wide spatula from the center to the edges, and remove the excess with a narrow spatula. A layer of plaster should not be thicker than half a centimeter.

The finish layer of the coating is made approximately the same thickness, but the mixture should be much less liquid. After the already performed actions, the surface is once again processed by a large spatula and the time is given for the final drying.

It is worth remembering that in the winter or autumn time to finish the plaster, it takes much more time, but you should not use artificial heat sources to accelerate this process – This can provoke new defects.
